New mobile ready ranking signal from Google

Google have announced that on the 21^st of April they will be updating the algorithm further with signals that will give positive rankings to mobile ready websites. In fact they use the term “significant”, which suggests that this is something that cannot be ignored.

At the time of writing this we are half way through March giving web masters and site owners just over a month to address whether or not their websites are responsive.  The benefits of your website ranking higher for keywords are obvious; however there are other benefits from having a fully responsive website.

Ever had to “pinch” the screen of your smart device to enlarge your view? This can at times make navigation difficult and can result in losing a visitor to a competitor’s website. This can possibly make your sites bounce rate rise as traffic leaves quickly.
